For his birthday Samuel recieved a Butterfly garden.
When we got back from vacation in August we finally ordered his Larvae.
They arrived in a cup with their food...it stayed covered until the
larvae crawled up to the lid and became cocoon's (sorry didn't think to take pictures at that point).

It took about 4 days for them all to crawl up and begin to spin their cocoon.
It was amazing to watch the changes, they happened very fast.
After they became cocoon's we took the special paper they were
attached to and pinned it to the inside of the Butterfly garden.
In about 6 days they 4 of the 5 came out of their cocoon's
According to the paper they will only live 3 weeks and can lay up to
500 eggs...
Eli took the following pictures today...they have been hatched for about a week now.
