Rain Rain....Lots O Rain
It started sprinkeling around 8:30 am today.
About 10:45 I looked outside and this is what I saw.
This is next to our screened in porch.
It's hard to see how far back it goes but in the side yard it goes more than 1/2 the way back.
We got over 6" of rain, I am sure the pool is ready to over flow. I can't get to the pool without waiding through the water.
See the tractor...you can see how far up the water comes. The mower deck is almost under water.
This is our front ditch
This is a look at our neighbors ditch the drain is on their property. If you look close you can see on the right where it is swiring away.
Neighbors accross the street.
The current is very strong, it's like one of those rivers you see
on cowboy movies thats too dangerous to cross but thy do it anyway!
New Cast!
Sam got his new cast yesterday!
The x-ray showed that he is healing fantastically.
He will have to wear this cast for 2 more weeks.
He still can not walk on it and should not put any weight on it.
But he can now get up and move around since this cast
protects his foot much better than the splint.

Typical Sam...
So Samuel destroyed his cast...it was flaking and falling apart, packed with mud and no longer hard. We went to the emergency room to have it removed becuase their was a high risk of infection from all of the mud up inside. He is now in a splint until we get to the Dr for a new cast.
He can not do ANYTHING, not even go to the bathroom by himself because the splint does not protect his foot very well.

It's finally happened!!!
I want to start by saying....NO LECTURES on this very late information....
On Monday it finally happened. An event that I have been waiting for since Samuel turned 2 years old.
His first broken bone.
He was playing on the monkey bars. He and Eli were droping from the bars onto colored mats. One was "easy" the other was "hard". He was supposed to jump to the "hard" mat. When he did his foot bend in an unnatural position. You will all be glad to know that he did make it onto the "hard" mat.
I was in the house and I heard him wailing. I did not run right out, the boys had been at eachother all day and I was tired of "this sound". However, a moment later I see him hoping accross the back yard and the wailing continued. I started outside still not convinced that this was not going to be a tattle session. However, when I got to him I knew that he was hurt. I looked him over and took him to his room where he laid for hours not able to move his leg without pain in his foot.
Well we all know how kids can be...DRAMA...anyway I gave him some meds and let him rest. After dinner we went swimming. I asked him to step on his foot thinking that his lighter weight and the cool water he may be able to bear weight...NOT A Chance...as soon as it his the ground big crocodile tears flowed. So we decided to take him to emergency.
The foot was broken.
Tuesday we went to a Foot & Ankle specialist and he casted it. The bone was in a great position and he didn't want it to move at all. Even though it is casted he still is not allowed to walk on it. We had to get a stroller.
Wednesday was the worst day for pain. He cried off an on all day. After backyard club he stayed inside all day.
Thursday was another indoor day.
It really stunk that we could not go swimming on the hottest days of the year.
Friday...I bagged the leg and let him go on a float in the pool. He's getting too comfortable in the cast. He played outside for hours. When he came in it was muddy inside and out and the bottom of the cast has started to chip away...He's way to rough. I wonder what the Dr will say!!
Sorry no pictures till this am. And he's still sleeping so they are just of the foot. I will try to get more through out the rest of the "ordeal"

I think we are gong to try to protect it with socks from here on out.
He got to choose his color.
The picture don't do justice to the dirtyness. I did scrub it with a toothbrush. It is packed with mud between the layers for fiberglass.
